I was a plein air painter for many years. I loved going out into the field and finding just right composition and light for the small paintings I would create. While I was at these parks or gardens I would do sketches and take photos for any future painting I may wish to recreate in the studio. Therefore, the larger format paintings in this category are all based on my reference photographs or drawings of that location.
